Representation

MANS is your state society for neurological surgery.  MANS leadership is instrumental in our intense involvement on a national level.

Keeping Members Informed

The MANS newsletter, published quarterly, attempts to keep members informed on socioeconomic news and well as some scientific items both on state level and national levels.  Members are always welcome to submit articles at no charge.

Continuing Medical Education

MANS has consistently provide Continuing Medical Education credits through our annual summer meetings.  We seek out and recruit expert speakers to provide neurosurgeons the most up to date techniques and best practices.

Membership Levels

  • Active Surgeon

    Active members shall be physicians licensed to practice medicine and actively practicing Neurosurgery in the State of Michigan.

    Active members shall be eligible for election to the board of directors. They shall have the privilege of voting. They are subject to all the fees and dues of the MANS, and in turn shall receive all advantages and rights which active membership to the MANS bestows.

    MEMBERSHIP FEE - $150 annually

    Dues invoices will be emailed out in November and Due before Feb. 15.

  • Emeritus

    Neurosurgeons who have retired from the active practice of medicine. Applicants for Senior Membership will submit a declaration of retirement to the MANS office. They shall become an emeritus member effective the first day of January the following year.

    Emeritus members shall possess all the rights, duties privileges and obligations of active members. Emeritus members shall not be subject to membership dues. They will be subject to full registration fees for the annual meeting.

  • Resident

    Any neurosurgeon currently in their residency in the State of Michigan qualifies to be a resident member with the MANS.

    Resident members shall not have the rights or duties that active members have. They shall not be eligible for election to the Board of Directors nor have the privilege of voting. Residents shall not be subject to membership dues. With the approval of the Board of Directors they may serve as non-voting members of the standing and ad hoc committees of the MANS. They will be subject to a reduced registration fee for the annual meeting.

  • Medical Student

    Any medical student currently enrolled in an accredited medical school within the State of Michigan qualifies to be a student member.

    Student members shall not have the rights or duties that active members have. They shall not be eligible for election to the Board of Directors nor have the privilege of voting. Students shall not be subject to membership dues. They will be subject to reduced registration fees for the annual meeting.

    FREE MANS MEMBERSHIP - Submit your school/program/grad date.

  • Associate

    Any advanced practitioner licensed in The State of Michigan conducting research in the field of neurosurgery; physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, medical assistants, practice administrators, data managers and other physicians and non-physician allied health care professionals who support and work directly with neurosurgeons shall be eligible for associate membership.

    Associate members shall not have the rights or duties that active members have. They shall not be eligible for election to the Board of Directors nor have the privilege of voting. Associate members shall not be subject to membership dues. With approval from the Board of Directors they may serve as non-voting members of the standing and ad hoc committees of the MANS. They will be subject to a reduced registration fee for the annual meeting.
